Important Change to U.S. Savings Bonds
 Planning to buy a savings bond? The U.S. Department of the Treasury ended over-the-counter sales of paper savings bonds on December 31, 2011.

But they’re not going away. Electronic savings bonds can be purchased online through Treasury Direct. You can open your free Treasury Direct account today to order savings bonds, just click here to get started.

You can continue to redeem your existing savings bonds here at Diversified Credit Union. Call Toni at 612-321-5301 if you need assistance in getting your Treasury Direct account started.

NCUA Insurance Coverage Increases
 The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) insures your savings up to $250,000. Through December 31, 2012, additional unlimited coverage is being offered on all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts (i.e., checking).  Read the official statement.

Check 21?
  The Check 21 Act allows financial institutions to process checks electronically. This decreases processing time and transportation costs, while reducing the likelihood of items being lost or destroyed in transit.
