RETAIL LENDING MANAGER (Full-Time Position)

Under the supervision of the President/CEO and in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations, this position will oversee the entire lending department of the Credit Union. The Retail Lending Manager guides, supports, trains and coaches all lending personnel within the Credit Union. Responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the lending staff and includes but is not limited to support and training of compliance, credit policies, regulations, vendor relations and management, development, competitive analysis and monitoring economic conditions. This position requires strong management skills, time management, precise verbal and written communications and a desire to succeed and help others succeed. This position is full-time/40 hours a week and is located in our Fridley office at 7978 University Ave NE, Fridley, MN 55432.

Summary of responsibilities:

  • Directing all operational aspects including distribution, customer service, human resources, administration and sales in accordance with the credit union’s objectives
  • Bring out the best of the branch’s personnel by providing training, coaching, development and motivation
  • 5+ years of experience in consumer lending, customer service and cross selling skills
  • Developing forecasts, financial objectives and business plans
  • Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities
  • Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities
  • Share knowledge on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs
  • Address member and employee satisfaction issues promptly
  • Adhere to high ethical standards, and comply with all regulations/applicable laws
  • Network to improve the presence and reputation of the branch and credit union

Summary of qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred or proven branch management experience, as a financial institution manager or similar role
  • Sufficient knowledge of modern management techniques and best practices

BRANCH MANAGER (Full-Time Position)

This position serves as a leader, coach and advisor to employees and members. You will manage staff, foster a positive environment and ensure member satisfaction and proper branch operation. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach and will be committed to the expansion and success of the credit union by implementing strategies that increase productivity, underwriting quality consumer loans, and enable sales targets achievement. This position is vital to our future growth in the Minneapolis market as we look to expand our services and locations in the area. We offer a great benefits package and paid parking.

Summary of responsibilities:

  • Complies with all banking regulations to include, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering/CIP (U.S. Patriot Act) procedures and policies.
  • Ensure Credit Union and staff are compliant with all lending regulations.
  • Guide, support, train and coach all lending personnel within the Credit Union. Conduct employee periodic reviews and disciplinary action, if needed.
  • Provides members with courteous, friendly service, which exceeds their expectations while processing transactions promptly, efficiently and accurately.
  • Is an effective team member through cooperation, communication, management, flexibility, dependability, attendance, and participation in DCU events.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of departmental reports.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate general ledger account balancing.
  • Face-to-face meetings or loan closings with members.
  • Lead consumer lending and visa underwriter for Credit Union.
  • Seek/Underwrite/Coordinate/Assist/Close consumer loans.
  • Oversee/maintain loan files.
  • Purge/retain closed loan documents.
  • Oversee scanning process & procedures.
  • Oversee Collateral Protection Insurance.
  • Cross sell/Cross educate products and services.
  • Business/Referral source development & coordination.
  • Collections.
  • Analyze economic conditions affecting loan department/recommend action.
  • Make recommendations regarding policies/procedures/rates/terms.
  • Keep abreast of federal regulations.
  • Oversight and compliance with Safe Act.
  • Maintain/update/recommend changes to credit policy.
  • Assist Vice President of Marketing with lending related materials and website .
  • Understand/maintain product & rate information for competitors.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Summary of qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred or sufficient industry experience.
  • Strong management skills with a minimum of 5 years experience.
  • Familiar with state and federal regulations concerning lending, financial transactions, and filing of lien instruments.
  • Well-developed ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Thorough knowledge of loan processing, approval and closing policies, credit policies, procedures, documents, underwriting requirements, governmental and agency requirements, terminology, and automated processing systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of computer software (i.e. Windows, Microsoft Office) fax and copy machines.
  • Ability and desire to maintain quality of service while performing multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week including occasional evenings and Saturday’s.
  • Must have a positive attitude and a desire to learn/prosper and help others do the same within a growing organization.
  • Must be dependable, accountable, self-motivated and require minimal supervision.
  • Must be registered and licensed through NMLS within 60 days of hire.

LENDING PROCESSOR/ASSISTANT (Full-Time Position)

Under the supervision of the Retail Lending Manager and in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations, this position will oversee the origination, file management, communication, and support to all lenders within the Credit Union. This position will be in direct communication with members and business partners in the form of ensuring consumer loan disbursal deadlines are being met, as well as provide support to the title area in the form of title and lien perfection, and deposit services for credit union members. This position requires time management, precise verbal and written communication and working knowledge of all major investors and their guidelines. This position is full-time/40 hours a week and is located in our Fridley office at 7978 University Ave NE, Fridley, MN 55432.

How you will be measured:

  • Accountable for the timely and accurate processing of consumer and commercial loans, as well as the instruments used to secure said loans, applying technical job knowledge and skills to complete all work in a timely manner in accordance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements while managing varying degrees of work.
  • Assist with the completion of additional loan administration and member service tasks as needed.
  • Meet individual and departmental consumer and commercial loan and title procurement goals as identified in the individual performance action plan.

Summary of other responsibilities:

  • Meets with members to sign Loan Application and Disclosures.
  • Understands and researches all investor guidelines and is up to date in any and all program changes that effect the processing or originating of loans in pipeline.
  • Clears any conditions that require communication to the clients.
  • Communicates with the lending team all information pertaining to member and/or property to meet file expectations.
  • Communicates loan approval by sending pre-approval/commitment letters to all parties involved in the transaction.
  • Tracks and manages new leads and follows up on referral business.
  • Sends out correspondence on behalf of the Credit Union and/or lender.
  • Solve escrow and payment issues without involving a loan officer.
  • Reviews all closing statements and compares to signed Loan Estimate before signing and correct discrepancies.
  • Assist lending team with call backs to prospects that need a phone consult prior to a face to face meeting.
  • Re-disclose all new loans when there is a change of circumstance.
  • Assume responsibilities and help the team grow.
  • Monitors post-closing exceptions and performs necessary follow up to clear each item. Ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship is in compliance with established Diversified Credit Union loan policy, procedure and business strategy as well as commercial and regulatory guidelines. Maintain files with sufficient documentation for third-party review/timely audits.
  • Manager of the credit union’s annual review process and system to ensure timely collection of updated financial and non-financial information. Ensure the portfolio administration of each client relationship is in compliance with established bank loan policy, procedure and business strategy as well as regulatory guidelines. Among other things, monitor the credit unions systems for UCC maturities, past due property taxes, expired insurance, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Summary of qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years of loan processing, underwriting, originating or combination of all aspects. Mortgage processing a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiar with state and federal regulations concerning lending, financial transactions, and filing of lien instruments.

PERSONAL BANKER II (Full-Time Position)

This position serves as a sales and service advisor to members; helping to inform, educate and uncover opportunities to help make a positive financial impact on the lives of our members. A Personal Banker II is responsible for delivering exceptional service, teller duties, cross selling deposit products, referring lending opportunities, and responding to member service questions/inquiries. Other duties include opening personal and business accounts, savings, checking money market, certificate of deposit and IRA accounts.

Currently we have two Personal Banker II positions open and both are full-time/40 hours a week and are available in either our Linden office located at 700 Linden Ave West, Minneapolis, MN 55403, or our Fridley office at 7978 University Ave NE, Fridley, MN 55432.

Summary of qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred or sufficient industry experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and proven sales experience.
  • Cash handling or teller experience.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player being flexible and dependable.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism while working under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to solicit business and enhance member relationships through outbound member contact.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.
  • 2-4 years of experience in consumer lending, customer service and cross selling skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations, loan underwriting guidelines, consumer loan products and consumer lending industry, credit scoring models, reviewing credit reports, Fair Credit Reporting and Fair Debt Collection Practices, Truth-in-Lending Regulations Z, E & B, RESPA, Safe Act and the entire lending process including interviewing and documentation.
  • Strong teamwork, quality service, interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills are needed.
